Martinborough Stockyard
The drought in 2008 inspired this series of paintings in the Wairarapa.The landscape was desperate but beautiful. The colours were particularly striking.
The painting above is a good example. ‘Martinborough Stockyard’ shows a farm in drought.
On the right, ‘Red Shed Wararapa’ shows another farm which has used irrigation which gioves a sharp colour contrast to the scene.
